THIRD JOURNAL

THIRD JOURNAL

It was with my sixth grade students. I am teaching to them the daily routines.
To start the topic I asked them some questions about what means for them "Daily routine" and also they report their own activities related to their routines.
They started to report their own routines in spanish and I wrote or said them in english in order to remember to them the vocabulary related.

After this activity I told them my own routine, in which they were very interested about. So they did some questions, but using spanish.

When I finished, I explained to them the activity we were to develop, that was a vocabulary worksheet in which they had to write the number of the activity inside a circle, according to the given model.

They did this activity really quicly. and we all of them finished, I gave them the responsability to quilify a peer according to my solution report about the excercise.

after finishing that they needed to write in their notebooks, the activities, that appeared in the worksheet acording to who did it. E.G. She dries her hair.
this activity was not quite attractive for some of them, because they already have some problems about identifying the third person of singular and the correct use of the verbs.

Instead of that some of the studentes developed the activity really well.

at that moment the class finished.

Sometimes I notice that they speak a lot of spanish in the English classes and maybe it is in part my fault, because I speak also in spanish in order to do the class flows.

I need to try to do a bigger effort to engage them in speaking or at least listen in English most of the time.
